Description

Thrips are minute (mostly 1 mm long or less), slender insects with fringed wings and unique asymmetrical mouthparts. Different thrips species feed mostly on plants by puncturing and sucking up the contents, although a few are predators. Entomologists have described approximately 6,000 species. They fly only weakly and their feathery wings are unsuitable for conventional flight; instead, thrips exploit an unusual mechanism, clap and fling, to create lift using an unsteady circulation pattern with transient vortices near the wings. Thrips is an invasive pest of vegetable plants. It feeds on plants. Chilies are abundant in shady areas of leaves and flowers. Tobacco control is best done by spraying tobacco tincture. They are black at the base of the leaf. Later the growth of the plant stagnates and gradually the plant dries up and dies.

Solution:

Neem-Garlic Mixture / Neem-Garlic-Castor Oil Mixture / Kiriath-Soap-Garlic Mixture should be sprayed alternately at the base of the leaf every 10-15 days. Mix herring and jaggery mixture in 3 ml of one liter of water and sprinkle on the leaves. Use resistant seeds.
